okae...I've just gotten back my CL Exam results (taken on 11th Jan 03)...sigh. I got 86%. So much disappointment, so much bitter reproach. I've dropped. a disgraceful fall from the honour of being top in class. No longer am I the top in class. 5.5 marks to the top. No, not so much disappointment as reproach. I only studied the last 2 days, so people tell me, but I've let myself terribly down and studying little is NO excuse at all. No excuse. MY fault. my ego. my laziness. We just studied a text in the HCL textbook which was titled, "qin2 neng2 bu3 zhuo2" and gave a sound warning about people deproving and talent wasted / gone, just because of complacency and laziness. I should have taken the warning. But then, it was already too late - the test was over. Now, I'm full of bitter self-reproaches:
Why can't I just be like others, and study hard? Why do I always revise at the last minute, at the 11th hour? If I continue being so slacky, will I retain the top position? (rhetoric - no way). Even as I ask myself these questions, I know, I will still revise at the last minute. Sigh. But nevermind. THen i would have to learn to face disappointment. Anyway, enough of these heavy stuff, on a lighter note, I'm going to try out for the Nanyang Debate Audition. I HOPE it's for the national interschool debate tournament, and that i can be on the NYGH debate team, but oh well. the debate's TOMORROW and I have just copied down the TOPICS and chosen the topic TODAY. horror of horrors. well...i've gotta seek help from ppl LOL. I'm going to REVAMP my WEBSITE too! should I? or should I not? I thought about revamping along hte theme of "snowrose"
